Introduction to Bomb Technicians

This chapter is a guide for physicians who are evaluating bomb technicians and candidates to make medical qualification recommendations. It is assumed that these bomb technicians and candidates have met the medical qualifications for patrol officers according to the guidance provided in other chapters of the ACOEM Guidance for the Medical Evaluation of Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs). This chapter provides additional medical qualifications (beyond the medical qualifications of patrol officers) that physicians should consider when evaluating law enforcement bomb technicians.
